Made of FDA approved drinking water safe silicone, it works in temperatures of -65 below to 400 degrees above zero and your garden hose would fail long before the Seal Genie™ to expand into the threads of a connection, with multiple mini compartments forming tight seals against the threads. The compressibility of the silicone is superior to EPDM, natural rubber, vinyl and many, many other materials.
